HCMC – Experts and representatives of energy companies and carbon-intensive industries recently sat down together at an international symposium in HCMC to discuss ways to accelerate the move towards sustainable energy solutions.
The Green Energy Transition (GET) event focused on sharing best practices and scalable solutions to speed up the shift to green energy. Key themes included emerging energy technologies, innovative energy models, and green finance solutions.
According to experts, the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) agreement emphasized the urgent need to shift from fossil fuels to cleaner energy sources and to achieve significant emissions reductions.
The symposium underscored the importance of cross-industry collaboration and overcoming current barriers to meet these goals.
Discussions also addressed financial investments required for Vietnam to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, which are estimated at US$380 billion between 2024 and 2040.
ESG Education & Business was the organizer of the event.
