Seminar explores sustainable practices to drive growth

HCMC – A virtual seminar held recently by ESG Education & Business has brought together experts to discuss key sustainability topics, including life cycle assessments (LCAs), environmental product declarations (EPDs), and carbon neutrality.

Nguyen Dinh Quyen, an expert from ESG Education & Business, said EPDs disclosing environmental data can serve as a tool to build trust with customers and partners, enhancing competitiveness in domestic and international markets.

Businesses adopting EPDs can optimize production processes, reduce waste, and meet increasingly stringent export market requirements, particularly in the U.S. European Union (EU) countries, he added.

Quyen outlined a five-step process for achieving carbon neutrality, including assessing emissions, developing reduction plans, offsetting carbon, securing international certification, and setting long-term net zero targets.

Markus Klemmer, chairman of Planetzero.earth, noted the potential of biochar production and carbon credit generation from organic agricultural waste as a promising investment model. The process not only sequesters carbon but also enhances soil health by transforming organic waste into biochar, a carbon-rich material.

ESG Education & Business has partnered with EPDHub, an international EPDs certification platform, to offer comprehensive sustainability solutions. Nemanja Nedic, program Manager at EPDHub, said the platform is committed to ensuring transparency, reliability, and meeting international standards for EPDs.
